Wild, Wide and Worth the Drive
(certainly if you like surfing)
Falassarna is one of those beaches that feels big the moment you arrive.
Wide, open, and shaped by wind and sea, it has a raw beauty that immediately stands out.
It’s important to know that Falassarna is further away from Plakias and requires a longer drive, but if you enjoy open landscapes and dramatic coastlines, it can absolutely be worth the time.

A Different Kind of Beauty
Falassarna isn’t about sheltered lagoons or calm waters.
It’s exposed, powerful and often windy — and that’s exactly what gives it its character.
On some days the sea is rough, waves roll in strongly, and the beach feels almost untamed. These are the days you’ll see surfers and windsurfers out on the water, making the most of the conditions.
On calmer days, you can enjoy the vast stretch of sand with endless views.
It’s the kind of beach where you don’t just come to swim
— you come to feel the elements.
Timing Matters Here Too
Just like Elafonissi, Falassarna can get busy in high summer, especially during the middle of the day.
Spring and autumn are far more enjoyable if you ask us.
Fewer people, softer light, and more space to simply walk and take it all in. Falassarna is also known for its sunsets, wide skies and changing colours.

More for Walking Than Lingering
This is a beach we enjoy for walking and atmosphere as much as for swimming.
The openness invites long walks. Swimming depends very much on conditions — some days are perfect, others better admired from the shore.
Our Take
Falassarna isn’t a quick stop and it’s not for everyone.
But if you enjoy wide landscapes, strong nature and beaches that feel a little wild, it offers something very different.
If you are interested, go and let the place speak for itself.
