For as long as we can remember, we shared the belief that we were not meant to stay in our homeland, Belgium. As passionate travelers and lovers of sun, sea and nature, we always felt drawn to the Mediterranean way of life. Our journey eventually led us to Plakias, South Crete, where we experienced that unmistakable feeling of coming home.
With a shared vision and a dream to create something truly special, we found the perfect piece of land, poured our hearts into every detail, and Boutique Hotel Eleodendro was born. A place where luxury meets intimacy, where nature and comfort intertwine and where every guest is welcomed with genuine warmth.

Get to Know Vicky
Vicky is a passionate traveler, drawn to experiences that nourish the mind, body, and soul. With a background in tourism, administration, and beauty & wellness, she has always been inspired by creating spaces where people can truly relax, slow down, and feel at ease.
Her love for thoughtful details, atmosphere, and well-being is woven throughout Eleodendro — from the overall flow of the hotel to the small touches that shape each stay. Vicky has a natural eye for aesthetics and balance, ensuring that every space feels calm, inviting, and considered.
Outside of hosting, she enjoys a good glass of wine, fine dining, and photography — passions that quietly influence the look and feel of Eleodendro. Making people feel at home comes naturally to her, and nothing brings her more joy than seeing guests fully unwind in a place she and Sven have created with care and heart.
In addition to hosting, Vicky is also a coach in mindfulness and personal growth. She guides meditation and mindfulness sessions and retreats, with a warm, practical approach focused on presence, slowing down, and creating a life you truly want to live.
Get to Know Sven
With a background in business, sales and marketing, Sven spent over 30 years working in consulting, strategy and sales.
But along the way, he realized that his true passion lay not just in building businesses, but in creating meaningful experiences.
Eleodendro is the result of years of dreaming, planning, and bringing a shared vision to life.
Sven is deeply involved in the practical and strategic side of the project, ensuring that every element comes together seamlessly — from the big picture to the smallest details.
Like Vicky, he has a strong love for travel, adventure, and discovering new places.
He enjoys exploring secluded destinations by boat, savoring good food and fine drinks, and creating memorable moments along the way.
When not at the hotel, you’ll often find him fishing, mountain biking through Crete’s rugged landscapes, or uncovering the island’s most beautiful spots by scooter.

About the Hotel
Eleodendro Boutique Hotel was created from a desire to build a calm, adults-only place where simplicity, care and atmosphere come first. It is more than just a boutique hotel. It is the result of a shared vision, shaped with care and brought to life by hand. From the very first sketches to the final atmosphere, every part of the hotel was designed, built, and furnished in-house by Vicky and Sven themselves.
The architecture is modern and clean, softened by warm materials and natural tones. Beige and sand-colored surfaces create a calm and light-filled base, while black accents and warm wood details add character and depth. Everything is designed to feel balanced, comfortable, and easy to be in.
Large windows invite natural light inside and gently blur the boundary between indoors and outdoors. Throughout the hotel, natural textures and carefully chosen details come together in a setting that feels modern, warm, and welcoming.
Surrounded by lush green gardens and tropical plants, Eleodendro carries a subtle, Bali-inspired calm. The combination of greenery, light, and natural materials creates an intimate atmosphere that feels relaxed and personal, rather than designed by formula. Every space invites rest and slowing down — from cozy corners to sit quietly, to sunlit spots and the infinity pool overlooking the sea. With only six rooms, the hotel offers a sense of peace and privacy that is increasingly rare. Four suites open up to sea views, while two offer a private garden and hot tub for extra comfort and seclusion.
